VandyBoys Swing DeMarini all the way to Omaha

Learn about Vanderbilt Baseball’s history with DeMarini ahead of the 2021 CWS.

Run it back. The VandyBoys are in Omaha for the 2021 college baseball national championship and looking to repeat after taking the crown in 2019. The reigning college baseball national champions have swung DeMarini bats all season long, powering them through the Southeastern Conference gauntlet and the first two rounds of the national postseason tournament. Nothing changes for Vanderbilt Baseball in Omaha as the Commodores will continue to swing DeMarini baseball bats like The Goods and the Voodoo One on their path to another potential championship.

Vanderbilt baseball is chasing down its third national title and continuing DeMarini’s rich history of performance in Omaha. Just a few years after the introduction of DeMarini baseball bats in 2004, #DeMariniNation first took home a national title when Oregon State won the crown swinging exclusively DeMarini bats in 2006. A year later, #DeMariniNation dominated college baseball as the Beavers repeated as national champions, and they were joined by Division II champions University of Tampa and Division III champions Kean University. Oregon State and the University of Tampa have continued adding to their impressive history while swinging DeMarini. The Beavers claimed another title in 2018 after finishing as national runner-up in 2017, and Tampa built a Division II dynasty with national titles in 2013, 2015 and 2019.

Vanderbilt first started swinging DeMarini bats in 2005 and hasn’t looked back since. The program quickly became a national powerhouse, making the national tournament every season since 2006 and winning their region nine times since 2010. The program swung its way to national championships in 2014 and 2019. This season, DeMarini has helped power the Commodores to their fifth College World Series appearance.

Entering the College World Series, the VandyBoys have combined for 86 home runs, tied for 11th-most in the country, and their .503 combined slugging percentage is tops in the SEC. The Vanderbilt lineup is relentless when it comes to putting pressure on opposing pitchers and filling the basepaths with foot traffic. The VandyBoys combined to walk 272 times this season, and their .388 team on base percentage leads their conference. With a full set of DeMarini BBCOR bats at its fingertips, the Vanderbilt offense can plate runs early and often.

The loaded bat rack in the Vanderbilt baseball dugout is fully stocked with DeMarini baseball bats, featuring everything from the latest DeMarini lineup to some throwback BBCOR bats. This elite mix of DeMarini BBCOR baseball bats propelled Vanderbilt through a difficult SEC regular season schedule, keeping the Vandyboys ranked in the top 10 all season long. In postseason play, the Commodores used timely hitting to win the Nashville Regional final in extra innings. In Vanderbilt’s Super Regional series, the bats did their part to help the Commodores to a sweep and a CWS bid.

Stay locked in on the VandyBoys as they pursue another ring in Omaha. Vanderbilt is scheduled to open play against Arizona at 6 p.m. eastern on Saturday, June 19.
