Rooted in Hillsboro - Bats Designed & Built in the USA

Learn why DeMarini continues to craft baseball and softball bats in our Hillsboro, Oregon hometown.

Since its inception, DeMarini has engineered and assembled its performance bats in Hillsboro, Oregon, a Portland suburb that has forever been the company’s home. Rooted in American craftsmanship since its founding in 1989, DeMarini relies on local talent to design and build every performance bat before it gets in the hands of a ballplayer.

Jerry Garnett, DeMarini’s third ever employee, said the brand disrupted the baseball and softball industry with its unrivaled power, distance and performance. A DeMarini employee since 1990, the brand’s second year of existence, Garnett has had a firsthand view to see DeMarini bats wreck the status quo and become the preferred options for elite players.

“When we first started DeMarini, we were an outsider to the game,” Garnett said. “Being an underdog makes us an American success story.”

Ray DeMarini established his bat brand to shake up the slowpitch softball landscape. The hitting fiend released DeMarini’s signature Double Wall technology, bringing home run power to the masses. When those initial bats reached slowpitch fields, DeMarini was operating out of a rural facility in Hillsboro.

“We started in 1989 in a dirt floor barn in Hillsboro, Oregon,” Garnett said, “and have now grown to be one of the biggest bat brands in the world.”

Today, with DeMarini bats dominating the slowpitch softball, fastpitch softball and baseball landscape, the company maintains its Pacific Northwest roots. Stock and custom performance baseball and softball bats like the Voodoo One Piece BBCOR Bat and Whisper Fastpitch Bat originate in Hillsboro. After a player designs a custom baseball or softball bat with the DeMarini Custom Bat Builder, the Hillsboro facility gets right to work creating the totally unique bats.

“With our smashing success, we’ve insisted DeMarini bats remain designed and built in the USA, one tradition we have no intention of changing,” Garnett said.
